The shock absorber is disassembled for replacement/repair of all sliding parts, oil and/or damaged components, in order to maintain/restore shock absorber’s full potential.
What is Revalving?
In addition to an overhaul, damping force specifications are adjusted by changing the combination of inner components, according to the usage and/or drivers’ preference.
We may decline revalving requests if revalving could lead to performance degradation, breakage and/or accidents.
Prices shown are per single damper/part and do NOT include domestic sales tax.
When sending damper in for Overhaul/ Revalving, spring and mount must be detached. Not doing so may incur an additional disassembly charge of JPY 4,000 (MSRP excl. Tax) per damper. Detached part(s) will be returned as-is, without cleaned/assembled.
*Basic overhaul work consists of disassembly inspection, cleaning, oil change, seal replacement and gas refilling.
Basic overhaul is required when revalving is requested. Revalving service can not be provided alone.
Additional charge is required for overhauling of hydraulic cylinder and unit components. (Only available through TEIN Technical Shop.)
Overhaul is no longer available for TYPE R and TYPE S models.

Overhaul Additional Labor Charge (Upgrade Service to 3-Way Adjustment) Chart
Upgrade service for SUPER RACING’s damping force adjustment system, from basic 2-way adjustment (16-level individual compression and rebound adjustment) to 3-way adjustment (24 levels in high-speed compression, 16 levels in low-speed compression and 16 levels in rebound)
This service requires overhaul of the shock absorber.
Only available for SUPER RACING.
Prices are per single damper.
Price shown must be added to the basic labor charge.
Parts are not sold separate from overhaul.
The EDFC Series impact this upgrade. Please consult with us in advance, if you use or are interested in the EDFC Series.
Containing 6 levels in 1 full rotation, 4 rotations is a 24-level adjustment.
At clockwise rotation, the end is level 0 (hardest). Rotating anti-clockwise from there, the setting becomes softer.
Anti-clockwise please do not use beyond 4 full rotations (even though the dial can still turn).
When ordering, be sure to clearly indicate on the form that you want to make it EDFC compatible and send in shock absorber, pillow ball upper mount and pillow nut altogether.
It is recommended to detach upper mount from shock absorber, as not doing so incur an additional disassembly charge.
Applicable models/products are limited.
Position of shaft top would be lowered for about 11.5mm, by making pillow ball upper mount EDFC compatible, and as a result early ‘bump touch’ might be caused and/or ride height might not be lowered well.
