The seventh round of the P-WRC (Production Car World Rally Championship), “2010 Rally Japan”, was held around the Northern Japanese city of Sapporo in Hokkaido Prefecture between the 10^th to 12^th September. With a total 26 stages covering 303km of rough terrain, an exciting rally was expected to unfold.

 

P.Flodin driving the Uspenskiy Rally Tecnica team, TYPE Gr.N equipped Impreza (GRB) stood in 2^nd overall place in the P-WRC points standing. Gaining maximum points from this round was essential for P.Flodin’s title hopes, and the team undertook extensive tests to prepare for the rally.

 

On the evening of the 9^th, two super special stages were held at the Sapporo Dome to open the event, followed by the main stages from the 10^th. P.Flodin set a blistering pace during Day1 setting numerous fastest times to finish in 1^st place with a huge 2minute gap over second place.

 

Day 2 saw P.Flodin continue to extend his lead as he was now pretty much running alone at the top, finishing the day approximately 3 and half minutes ahead of the second car. Minor setting changes were made during the rally services to ensure P.Flodin could continue to drive as fast and steadily as possible.

 

The toughest road conditions were expected for Day 3, but this did not stop P.Flodin as he had already built up an enormous lead to easily come home to win the rally! With this win, he was able to gain enough points to take the top position in the P-WRC points standing and also live up to the eager Japanese Subaru fans.

 

At the end of the rally, P.Flodin showed his overwhelming speed and dominance by setting 13 fastest times and 13 second fastest times out of the total 26 stages. Stay tuned for more exciting action as P.Flodin and the TYPE Gr.N now aim to take the overall P-WRC title!
