The third round of the 2010 P-WRC (Production Car World Rally Championship) was held from 1st to 3rd April around the Dead Sea area in Jordan. The TEIN supported Uspenskiy Rally Tecnica team Impreza GRB equipped with the TYPE Gr.N was driven by the one and only P.Flodin. The conditions were rough and the temperatures rose easily above 30degrees in the hard rocky dessert
DAY 1 the ceremonial start got underway in the Roman ruins of Jaresh, north of Amman city. P.Flodin set the fastest time in SS1 and continued to push hard throughout the day Even with slight brake trouble, he managed not to lose pace and finish the day at the top of the P-WRC.
DAY 2 covered a total of 141km through rough mountainous terrain. P.Flodin finished in 2nd place in the first stage, but in the remaining 5 stages he put up the fastest times. The rough hard surfaces took a toll on the car and just 500m from the finish of the last stage he suffered a puncture in his rear tire. The damage was so bad that it bent the wheel but he still managed to finish the day in top position.
DAY 3 with the overall win within his sights, P.Flodin set the top time in 7 out of the 8 stages in the day. He suffered damage to his chassis on the final stage of the day, finishing that stage in 6th place, but job was already done and he took the overall win! 2minutes behind was A.Araujo who finished in 2nd position. P.Flodin said “when trouble arose on the last stage, I thought I maybe lost the rally, but I won and I’m very happy with the performance of the team and TEIN dampers!”
At the end of the rally, P.Flodin and the TYPE Gr.N damper took 14 out of the 21 stages. The TYPE Gr.N proved its abilities by wining the snow rally in Rd. 1 Rally Sweden. And now it provided excellent traction and high durability to help P.Flodin win the Jordan Rally.
The next round will be Rally Finland held from 29th to 31st July. Look forward to more action from P.Flodin and the TYPE Gr.N damper. |
