Chinese Rally Championship Rd.2 Jiangsu (Nanjing)
M.Higgins and TYPE Gr.N Win!

The 2nd round of the Chinese Rally Championship (CRC) was approximately 450km west of Shanghai in the Nanjing area. The stages were expected to be as rough as those of the treacherous WRC Acropolis round.

TEIN supported 3 cars equipped with the new TYPE Gr.N dampers a long with 8 TYPE Gr.N and TYPE HG users. The pre-rally tests went very well for the new dampers and settings were found fairly early on. The P.Flodin and G.Bergsten pair were back in top form with 4 consecutive wins now crossing numerous countries, and they were setting the bench mark here. D.Higgins and I.Thomas pair were still carefully testing and working on their newly acquired Lancer Evo.X (CZ4A). While David’s brother, M.Higgins was also thoroughly setting up his car to find the winning combination.

Day 1 of the rally started off on Friday afternoon with the dirt stages held in a local park in the city limits. P.Flodin showed his winning form by finishing the day in top position. Day 2 saw M.Higgins flying through all the stages. He was just too quick for the others and took 1st position. M.Higgins didn’t ease up on Day 3 as he continued to push even harder and at the end of the day he came home to take the overall victory.

The leader of Day 1, P.Flodin struggled with his tires as they couldn’t keep up with his aggressive driving style and finished in 6th position. D.Higgins had suffered some trouble during the rally, but he never gave up and showed why he is a former champion in the CRC by finishing on the podium in 3rd overall position. M.Higgins’ teammate Don finished the rally as the top Chinese driver, so their team was thrilled with their driver’s performances.

Please look forward to more action as the TYPE Gr.N damper seeks to prove to all its capabilities in any rally battlefield.
