The third round of the Civic Inter Series was held at the famous Twin Ring Motegi. Up until now Taniguchi has been dominating the qualifying sessions, but here at Motegi, Matsui showed his championship winning form by grabbing pole position. Taniguchi qualified in second position a mere 0.1seconds behind Matsui.

 

The start of the final race got underway with Matsui and Taniguchi going head to head. From the second lap onwards, their pace was just too fast for the others to follow and with every lap they extended their lead over the following pack. Taniguchi applied severe pressure on Matsui, but he never gave in. Matsui drove a perfect race to take the checkered flag and his second consecutive win! This now puts him on top of the points table with a strong lead. TEIN user Goto who started 6th on the grid, drove an excellent race to come home on the podium in 3rd overall position.
