The 4^th round of the 2008 Super Taikyu series was a grueling 24hour race held at Tokachi Speed Way in Hokkaido. The harsh endurance race was a test for both drivers and their machines. Four TEIN users took part in the race; ST1 class #360 Porsche 911GT3 (Nagashima/ Matsumura/ Tanaka), ST3 class #14 RX-7/ FD3S (Asakura/ Yamazaki/ Furuya), #15 Fairlady Z/ Z33 (Nagashima/ Igor Sushko/ Komatsu), and #113 Fairlady Z/Z33 (Ihashi/ Tsutsumi/ Ooi). The weather was forecasted for fine weather but the actual day turned out to be cloudy and the temperature, especially compared to races on the mainland, was cooler.

 

Ihashi driving the #113 car in ST3 class had a blistering start and was chasing the top running #333 car, but after a mere 30minutes into the 24hour race, he suffered from mechanical trouble and started to lose ground. In the end, the car finished in 7^th place in its class. The #360 car in ST1 class started from a favorable grid position and at the 3hour mark, they were running in 3^rd place. Unfortunately, they also suffered from mechanical problems and had to pit in several times. They continued to drive hard until the end, and came home in 4^th place. The #15 car in ST3 class kept with the front runners, contesting for the top positions, and at the end of the long fierce 24hour race, it finished on the podium in 3^rd place in their class.

The 5^th round of the series will take place back on the mainland at Okayama International Circuit in Okayama prefecture.
