With disappointing performances in rounds 1 and 2, the FRD team and TEIN were out for revenge, uniting the hopes of the whole team. Round 3 was held in Beijing, the same circuit as last round. New versions of the shock absorbers were installed in the cars and tests were underway to set the cars up for the race. Heavy rain troubled testing during the first day, but from the second day the weather turned fine and perfect set ups were made in time for the qualifying round. The Ford #2 car set the fastest time and grabbed pole position repeating his performance in the last round. Car #1 qualified in 3^rd and #3 in 6^th position, setting up a great grid position for the FRD team.

 

On race day there were no signs of rain, which troubled us in the last round. The weather was fine, the cars were all set up perfectly and start of the race awaited.

On the opening lap, car #2 dropped to 2^nd position, but was able to stick right on the tail of the lead car! Car #1 kept its 3^rd position and was on pursuit of the two up front. During lap 3 car #3 car regretfully spun... and on lap 6 the #8 TSB Accord crashed. As more and more accidents started to appear the safety car came out during lap 9 bringing the field closer together. Once the race restarted, the FRD #2 and #1 cars took full advantage and overtook the top running Hankook Accord to grab the top 2 positions! By the 18^th lap the top 3 cars were racing away from the field, and by the 24^th lap the #2 car was alone at the top with a solid lead. Everyone was praying for no trouble to occur as the victory was imminent.

 

The race ended as we all hoped! Also car #1 was also able to keep its position as FRD & TEIN came home in 1^st & 2^nd positions! It was sweet revenge! The 3^rd placed #9 TSB Accord was also a TEIN user, so it was a great day for TEIN acquiring all podium positions.

Of course we are aiming for another "all-out-victory" in the next round!
