Round 5 of the British Rally Championship (BRC), “International Rally Yorkshire” was held around Pickering in North Yorkshire. As the battle heats up for the top positions, D.Higgins and the TYPE Gr.N were able to grab the 3rd overall position!!
This round was the second gravel rally this year for the TQ,com rally team’s Impreza WRX (GRB). The car was set up perfectly during the pre-rally tests, but no one can predict what awaits in the rally.
Settings were made by TEIN engineers throughout the rally, but due to drive shaft problems, 3 stages had to be driven in rear wheel drive, costing the team a lot of time.
At the end of the rally, the first placed G.Wilks’ car was under scrutiny for a technical violation, and until the final results become available, only temporary results can be posted. But the results do not affect D.Higgins or his brother, M.Higgins’ battle for the championship as they are tied in 1st place either way. Look forward to the final battle between the Higgins’ brothers as they head to the final round, “Rally GB”, on equal points!
The tremendous efforts from privateers, H.Evans and I.Williams allowed them to finish in 10th overall. This gives the TQ.com team a huge lead over the second place team in the overall team rankings!
The next round, “Rally GB”, will be the 6th and final round of the British Rally Championship (BRC), and it will also be a joint round with the WRC (P-WRC). Look forward to the climax of the BRC, as TEIN support will be there in full force, including more engineers and our service truck as well! |
