The first round of the 2008 British Rally – Pirelli International Rally, was held in Carlisle, in the North West area of England. TEIN supported driver, D. Higgins with his co-driver I. Thomas, famous for his 5 consecutive victories in the China Rally Championships last season, had a tremendous rally and finished in 3rd overall position. “It’s a great start to the year for the team... everyone worked really well together and we’ve picked up good points in both the drivers and teams championships” said David.

D. Higgins drove hard throughout the whole rally in their brand new Subaru Impreza, equipped with the TYPE Gr.N shock absorber. Because they were driving a new car, there were some concerns about the final set up and conditions of the car. David commented, “It was a lot of hard work.... things came together quite late.... we learned a lot more about the cars on the event”. But as their results showed, finishing in the top 5 in 10 out of the 14 stages, everything went well for them and they fought hard to finish on the podium.

Privateers TEIN shock absorber users, H.Evans and I.Williams, also driving the new Subaru Impreza as part of the FX Motor Sport squad, fought hard to finish in a well deserved 18^th overall position. The next round will be a tarmac event, so all the teams will be setting up and preparing their cars to tarmac settings. We all look forward to the next round of the BRC, held in Duns on the 24^th May. We hope both the performance of D. Higgins and his TYPE Gr.N will be able to continue with their success they had this round.
