Russian New Star, Evgeniy VERTUNOV finished in 9th place!
Many Champions-to-be retired, but a TEIN driver survived!

 2007 P-WRC (Production car World Rally Championship) is already half way through, and the 4th round, "Acropolis Rally" took place in Greece from May 31st to June 3rd. The host town was Markopoulo, located about 30km south of Athens. The pointed stones all over the gravel courses plus the burning sun made this round a very tough one for the crews and the machines.
6 out of 22 machines challenging this big round were TEIN supported machines: S.Pavlides (#37, SUBARU IMPREZA GDB-F) and K.Sohlberg from SYMS RALLY TEAM (#38, SUBARU IMPREZA GDB-F), L.Kuzaj from SUBARU POLAND RALLY TEAM (#41, SUBARU IMPREZA GDB-F), E. Vertunov from SUBARU RALLY TEAM RUSSIA (#42 SUBARU IMPREZA GDB-F) A.Jereb from OMV BIXXOL Rally Team (#42 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION IX) and P. Flodin (#50 SUBARU IMPREZA GDB-F) from Rally Team Olsberg.
From the start of the race, many drivers had retired, and that included Flodin, Sohlberg, Kuzaj and Pavlides, all of whom were expected something great. It sure was a survival rally, and we are proud to announce that the new star from Russia, Vertunov finished 9th, and Jereb, finished 11th despite his flat tire in SS18. |

"We set the ride height higher than usual for the hard and rough gravel surface. We also took into account the steering response as well as traction because of the stop & go layout of the course. For Jereb's EVO, we added a bracket for the sub-tank, and for Sohlberg, Kuzaj and Flodin's Impreza, we installed the newly developed test models. Although the results didn't turn out as expected, none of our drivers had any troubles from the suspensions. Despite Flodin's crash, the dampers barely had any damage, which proves the rigidity of our products. From now on, we wish to keep this enduring characteristics and aim for a lighter weight." |
