D. Higgins Won the Championship Twice in a Row!
M. Rowe finished 2nd in his first challenge in CRC!

The second round of China Rally Championship 2007 was held from June 16th to 17th near Beijing. The Tarmac Stages took place near The Great Wall of China. Although there were only two courses, they were such long and winding roads that one of them was used for World Rally Championship in 1999. Due to its width and smooth surface, the average speed soars up to 130km/h. In this tough race, 13 Machines supported by TEIN had entered: D. Higgins, F. Fan and Q. Chang entered from Wanyu Team with Evo IX, M. Rowe from KST also with Evo XI, and finally H. Ichino /Michael Lieu, D. Herridge, L. Wei from SUBARU RALLY TEAM CHINA with SUBARU IMPREZA GDB-F.
Rowe and Herridge had difficulties setting up their machines and Wei retired in Leg 2; however, Higgins from Wanyu team had shown a constant drive and won the championship twice in a row since the opening round in Shanghai. Rowe, who was searching for the best set up, fought skillfully and won 2nd place. As a result, TEIN supported teams won 1st and 2nd place!

Comments from TEIN engineer (TEIN R&D Section/Mr. Tomoaki Himeno)
"During the test drive we tested basic Tarmac settings, but the driver requested for a lower ride height due to smooth surface and high-speeding corners. So, we adjusted the camber angles according to such settings. Although the settings for Higgins went well, Rowe and other 3 machines from SUBARU RALLY TEAM CHINA struggled from under-steering characteristics, so we changed the springs and searched for the best settings.
This Tarmac race had very unique courses, which was almost like a circuit. We would like to take the data we achieved from this race and research a better set up, taking camber angles into account."
