H. Qiao Hang Finished 8th with Persistent Driving
W. Xiao Feng retired from 4th place due to electrical trouble

Second round of China Circuit Championship (CCC) was held from July 21 to 22, 2007 at Beijing Goldenport Circuit. 22 machines entered in 1600cc class and 24 in 2000cc class. As TEIN supported drivers, H. Qiao Hang (#20) and W. Xiao Feng (#21) from 778 Racing Team, both driving Kia Cerato, competed in this race. In addition, TEIN also supported 5 machines in 2000cc class.

This 2.39km-long course has 2 hairpin curves and low speeding corners, which makes is almost impossible to pass a car in most of the points. Therefore, both Xiao Feng and Qiao Hang worked hard on testing in order to give their best performance at the starting grid. The race, however, did not come out as we wished it would be.

First of all, Xiao Feng crashed on the 2nd day of first round and damaged the machine. He had difficulty adjusting the tires, and placed 7th in the first round. Qiao Hang also had engine troubles before this first round, thus starting out the final round from the very last position.

Although Xiao Feng started out well in the final round, he suffered from electrical trouble during 13th lap and retired from the race.

Comments from TEIN engineer (TEIN R&D Section/Mr. Ryoh Takizawa)
"The layout of Beijing race was very technical with one curve after another, so we rebuilt the dampers and changed the spring rates accordingly. In Shanghai opening round, the damper movement was very peaky, so we set the damper to have a mild taste by lowering the damping force. Unfortunately, we couldn't test everything due to Xiao Feng's crash and Qiao Hang's engine troubles, but contact with road surface was becoming more and more constant. The next round in Zuhai is a 'stop-and-go' circuit. There was a lot of pitching movement during the pretest before the race, but with the characteristics of the machine we learned through this race, our damper will be able to adjust well. We wish to further investigate with the team in order to find the setting to match the tires."
